Abel is the Director of Outreach Operations for the state of Illinois where he oversees a program to help high schoolers apply and pay for college, especially in cases where they would be the first in their family to attend.  When he was eight years old, Abel and his mother moved to the United States to be with his father.  Now he lives with his wife in Old Irving Park, where they enjoy trying the different types of food Chicago’s multiculturalism provides.
